Al-Quds University
Al-Quds University, a Palestinian institution, was established in 1984. Its main campus is located in Abu Dis, with four additional sites situated in Jerusalem: Sheikh Jarrah, Beit Hanina, and Ramallah (Al-Bireh). The main campus in Abu Dis is the only university in the world surrounded by the separation wall.
The university offers opportunities for higher education and community services in the Jerusalem area, as well as in neighboring towns, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank. It comprises fifteen academic faculties distributed across its four locations, including the Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology, Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health, Law, Quran and Islamic Studies, Da’wah and Fundamentals of Religion, Health Professions, Engineering, Jurisprudence, Education, Business Administration and Economics, the Honors College (Bard)-Jerusalem, and Pharmacy. These faculties serve over 13,000 students from Jerusalem and areas such as Bethlehem, Hebron, Jenin, Jericho, Nablus, Ramallah, Tulkarm, and Qalqilya.
Al-Quds University provides a dynamic educational environment for its students, fostering creativity, the exchange of ideas, freedom of expression, and innovation in research. Its vision emphasizes offering students the best possible education, instilling values of committed citizenship, openness to new ideas, promoting constructive collaboration, and respecting world cultures. More than 30 centers and institutes are affiliated with the university, some focusing on innovative research and others addressing community needs by providing support to the Jerusalem community.
