Code of Ethics

Code of Ethics for Scientific Research, Publication, and the Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Al-Quds Journal of Academic Research is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professional ethics and scientific integrity throughout the whole research and publication process. This document serves as a key reference for researchers when designing their studies or employing digital tools, particularly artificial intelligence, for analysis, interpretation, and scientific publication, in accordance with humanistic principles and established academic values.

To preserve the rights of all parties and advance the ideals of scientific creativity and innovation, this policy lays forth the ethical standards that all contributors—researchers, reviewers, and editors—must follow. By making sure that the submitted research hasn't been published, submitted for publication, or subjected to peer review at any other organization, researchers pledge to uphold the ethical standards of scientific research and publication throughout the entire research preparation, submission, and publication process.

Scientific Honesty and Integrity

Throughout the whole research process, researchers are dedicated to delivering accurate and authentic information. Falsifying any data, findings, or conclusions is absolutely forbidden.

Scientific Objectivity and Neutrality

Researchers pledge not to utilize the scientific platform to advance agendas unrelated to the research topic and to avoid any intellectual, institutional, or personal biases that could affect the design of the study or the interpretation of its findings.

Copyright

The final approval of the manuscript submitted for publication must be provided by all authors who have made significant contributions to the research. To communicate with the journal throughout the editing and review process, a corresponding author needs to be assigned. In order to ensure that any concerns regarding the accuracy and integrity of the research are thoroughly investigated, all authors must agree to take full responsibility for every part of the study. They must also disclose that this research has no conflicts of interest. If there is disagreement regarding who wrote the article, it will either be sent back to the authors or be suspended until the issue is settled.

Methodology, Research Data Management, Privacy Protection, and Confidentiality

The researcher (s) pledges to describe the technique employed, provide a justification for any modifications made during implementation, and list the software and measurement instruments used in the analysis along with the versions of each. Pledge to handle the data with the utmost integrity, guaranteeing its completeness and accuracy, safeguarding the research participants' privacy and confidentiality, and refraining from publishing any information that reveals their identity without their express, written agreement. Additionally, they are prepared to observe privacy constraints and give the data to the editorial board upon request. It is forbidden to alter pictures and graphs, create, alter, or remove data without scientific basis, or employ improper analytical techniques to reach predefined conclusions. There is a major breach of scientific integrity in these activities.

Plagiarism

Researchers are obligated to document all sources they have used and not copy the texts or ideas of others without proper attribution.

Duplicate Publication and Multiple Submissions

It is mandatory for researchers to refrain from publishing identical research in many scientific journals. Any portion of the research may not be reposted or used in other works without permission from the main editor of the journal.

Publication by Editorial Council Members

Editorial Council members are permitted to publish in the journal, provided that they are excluded from the peer-review process of their own submission.

Ethics of Scientific Communication and Criticism

The authors pledge to respect cultural, philosophical, and methodological diversity while utilizing objective and courteous scientific terminology. Any discriminatory content, including personal criticism and libelous remarks that could damage someone else's reputation, is forbidden. All legal responsibility for any defamatory statements is with the authors. This could result in the research being withdrawn or rejected after it has been published.

Ethical Considerations for Human Research

Any study that involves interaction with or the use of samples derived from humans or animals — including surgical or parasurgical interventions, the use of new methods, or the administration of medications or other substances — must obtain ethical approval. This includes studies using biological samples (such as tissues, fluids, or DNA) collected from humans or animals, whether preserved from previous procedures or obtained specifically for the research. It also applies to studies that involve collecting personal or clinical data, accessing medical records, using images, audio, or video recordings, conducting psychological or physical tests, or employing medical or experimental equipment.

Ethics of the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research

The Al-Quds Journal of Academic Research acknowledges the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on scientific research as well as their rapid development. Thus, the purpose of this policy is to control the application of generative AI technologies in order to maintain scientific excellence, academic integrity, and transparency. The editorial board, all researchers, reviewers, and anybody else participating in the journal's publication process are subject to this policy.

Transparency, Disclosure, and Accountability

Researchers pledge to be transparent about their use of AI technologies, including how and why they were utilized as well as the stages of the study in which they were employed. While stressing that artificial intelligence is not regarded as a co-author and cannot be named as an author, researchers assert that they bear full responsibility for the research's substance, quality, and accuracy.

Permitted Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Scientific Research (Guideline for the Use of Artificial Intelligence 2025 - Supreme Council of Universities, p. 19)

Research Assistance: Research-related data and references can be gathered, arranged, processed, and retrieved with the aid of artificial intelligence. Additionally, statistical software can be used to examine data with artificial intelligence. AI can be used to enhance writing style, including rewording and fixing spelling and grammar mistakes.

Irrelevant uses of these tools include: total replacement of writing, which includes using AI to write scientific theses and research papers in their own style without consulting the researcher; falsification, plagiarism, and distortion of facts; and a lack of transparency, such as omitting to disclose the use of AI in the planning and analysis of the research.
