This article discusses the uses of life story, focusing on two applications: the first is sociological research, and the second is social intervention. If life story is an indispensable tool for qualitative sociological research, which enables the collection of data that forms the basis for an interpretive understanding of the issues, events, and social problems raised, it has also emerged as a tool for social intervention in contemporary times, as it enables the reconstruction of the meaning of life for the target group and helps them reconcile with their personal history in a new perspective on self, history, and existence. Therefore, it can be confirmed that life story is not just a tool and means for the academic and clinic, but rather a mechanism for achieving social recognition of the human being and humanization of him/her in the context of global transformations and democratization of professional practices targeted to persons in Difficult situations.
