Abstract

The epistolary story has been a popular narrative genre for some time. Ghassan Kanafani was one of the authors whose short story collections included some stories of this genre, including "The Bride" and "The Hero in the Cell". The  descriptive-analytical approach was used to trace the narrative structure in the epistolary in these two works, aiming to explore the potential of the epistolary story format to elucidate key elements of the narrative. The research found that spatial setting played a significant role in both stories, contributing to the understanding of the central theme in "The Bride" and the character development in "The Hero in the Cell". Furthermore, while chronological sequence was not prominent in the latter story, its absence did not detract from its overall effectiveness. Other findings will be discussed later.
